Fox Mountain Guides Teen Summer Camp Programs

Fox Mountain Guides Rock Climbing Summer Camp Programs are located in the breathtaking Pisgah National Forest in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina. We have three unique programs, ‘Regular Camps’ (ages 13-18), ‘Senior Advanced Camps’ (ages 13-18) and ‘Family Camps’ (ages 10 and up) which run throughout the summer.

Our programs have been created for climbers that want to "go to the next level" in rock climbing, taking part in trips that traditional summer camps simply cannot offer. Our Camps are ideally suited for rock climbers that want to not only climb tons of rock but also learn about the equipment, techniques, and most importantly safety skills of climbing. We cater to first-time climbers through to advanced teens who may compete at local or national climbing competitions. Over the years we have had a mix of beginners through to ‘ranked’ national and international teen climbers attend our camps. Climbers have come from local states such as NC, SC and GA to as far away as TX, CA and even overseas from Switzerland and Germany.

Key Points:

• We are the only Summer Camp Program in the Southeast to attain AMGA Accreditation (one of only two such programs in the whole Country).
• Our Instructors are not 18-20 year olds on summer break, they are fulltime professional instructors with Fox Mountain Guides. They are the most highly credentialed and certified instructors working in a summer camp program in the Southeast, if not the USA.
• Our Camps uniquely small. We cap our camps at a maximum of 12 climbers in each program to create an unparalleled learning environment. Every year we have a waiting list for our Camps.

Regular Camps, Ages 13-18

Our ‘Regular’ Camps have been designed and improved for many years to focus on the climber with little or no previous climbing experience. You will learn all aspects of climbing and have a host of new adventures! These programs are small, personal camps where you will meet lifelong friends and climb amazing rock in a wonderful setting.

Senior Advanced Camps, Ages 13-18

Our Senior Programs are advanced camps for teen climbers with more experience under their belt. This camp will focus on higher end climbing techniques allowing climbers to push their boundaries and skill sets. Climbers will set personal goals and be given the opportunity to reach them with 1:1 guidance and coaching. This program is designed for our returning campers mainly, but first year FMG climbers with more experience can enroll.

Family Camps, Ages 10 and up

On many occasions Parents asked if they could attend the camps with their children so we created this unique program for Parents and campers to attend together. Over the years our Family Camps have been and outstanding success, creating a great bonding experience while taking part in a week or exhilarating climbing. We are especially looking forward to this year’s Family Camp Program!
